About the position

Our sales philosophy is to gain a thorough understanding of who our customers are, what their businesses do, and how Cineflair can help them succeed, to turn them into loyal fans. The Business Development Specialist will play a meaningful role in establishing relationships and developing our sales process by uncovering potential customers through focused inbound and outbound campaigns.

The ideal candidate will have experience and/or education in sales and marketing and be familiar with video production or a creative services agency. This role is based out of our downtown office in Edmonton, Alberta. In this role, reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the following:

Core Responsibilities

Primary:  Sales Management / Prospecting

Under direct guidance from the Managing Director, you will:

  1. Lead sales efforts,  including daily prospecting, managing and converting inbound leads, writing and presenting proposals

  2. Discover and explore new markets by leveraging our past experience and portfolio to identify niche markets to target through outbound campaigns

  3. Enhance Cineflair’s visibility and promote it as a leader in the video marketing and production industry by getting involved at events, industry talks, seminars and other networking opportunities

  4. Steward business development plans, sales targets and key performance indicators

  5. Collaborate with our creative team to identify how we can adapt and improve our sales process to further streamline our video production process from beginning to end

  6. Contribute to marketing efforts by identifying ways to target potential customers and how to approach suitable marketing tactics

Secondary: Editorial

A secondary part of your role will include contributing with:

Editorial / Copywriting

  • Contribute to our blogs and social media — contribute to our weekly blog and on-going social media efforts

Character and Qualifications

Character

  • You’re an excellent and confident communicator who can actively listen and converse with customers to get a true understanding of who they are and what they need

  • You have a genuine passion for filmmaking, video production or visual storytelling

  • You’re a self-starter who’s motivated by a fast-paced and challenging work environment, not depleted by it

  • You’re adaptable and are able to pivot and change directions when required

  • You’re incredibly driven, tenacious and hungry to learn, grow and develop

  • You’re a team player who takes pride in pitching in to help the team

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related field to marketing/communication is an asset

  • Proven previous success in sales

  • Previous experience working in a creative agency environment is an asset

  • Familiarity with the video production process is an asset

  • Knowledge and experience using a CRM tool
